Zoo Barcelona is part of the Ciutadella Park and hosts over 7000 animals out of about 500 species. Visitors to the Barcelona Zoo can enjoy a water show with dolphins or killer whales.
Zoo Barcelona
These shows take place from 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 4 pm. Another great attraction of the Barcelona zoo was "Copito de Nineve" ("Snowflake"), the only albino gorilla in captivity. It died in 2003 but many tourists still remember it. In addition to these attractions, visitors can see a lot of other animals such as tropical birds, reptiles, spiders, lions and tigers. For children, a playground is arranged that will surely delight the little ones.
Although it is a fairly small zoo and therefore somewhat controversial by those who advocate for animal rights, the Barcelona Zoo is a very well maintained place and the animals are very well cared for. The Barcelona Zoo can certainly be a good opportunity to spend a few pleasant hours with family or friends.
